
The Open Source Office has decided to extend the deadline for submitting applications for the Best Open University Paper Award until 13 September.

Requirements and deadlines
Students interested in participating in this award should be aware that the requirements to be met by these works are as follows:
- have been realised with a open-source implementation of any programming language
- the software developed during the project has been published under a open source licence among those recognised as such by the Free Software Foundation or the Open Source Iniciative.
- That the source code of the university work is available in a public repository for downloading and study.
Projects that make use of Open Source Hardware can also participate.
To participate in this award, interested persons must follow all the steps required in the rules of the award before 13 September:
- Fill in the registration form
- Submit a report (maximum 10 pages) explaining the specific aspects of the Open Source Software and public activity of the project.. This script can be used for its realisation, and it can be delivered in the registration form itself, or by e-mail before the registration deadline.
This initiative is part of the Open Source Software Action Plan 2024 of the Xunta de Galicia, within the lines of action to improve and enhance the mechanisms for training and dissemination of open source software among Galician citizens and in particular among university students.
