The deadline for entries for the Prize for the best open-source university paper has been extended until 13 October.

The Open Source Office has decided to extend the deadline for submitting applications for the Prize for the best open source university work until 13 October.

 

All the information on how to participate is available on the prize page. If you have any questions, please contact the prize organisers at the Open Source Software Office of the CIXUG.

Requirements and deadlines

Students interested in participating in this award should be aware of the following requirements:

  • Have been realised with a open source implementation of any programming language
  • Have published the software developed during the project under a open source licence among those recognised as such by the Free Software Foundation or the Open Source Iniciative.

Projects that make use of Open Source Hardware can also participate.

To participate in this award, interested persons must follow all the steps required in the terms and conditions of the award before 13 October:

  • Fill in the application form
  • Submit a report (maximum 10 pages) explaining the specific aspects of the Open Source Software and public activity of the project. This script can be used for its realisation, and it can be delivered in the registration form itself, or by e-mail before the registration deadline.

This initiative is part of the Open Source Software Action Plan 2023 of the Xunta de Galicia, within the lines of action to improve and enhance the mechanisms for training and dissemination of open source software among Galician citizens and in particular among university students.
